But SAY THE WORD, and my servant will be healed. For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” (Luke 7:7- 8)
In the beginning when nothing existed, God spoke the entire universe into existence. “By faith we understand that the universe was formed by God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible” (Hebrews 11:2). He upholds the universe by His powerful word. “…..upholding all things by His powerful word”….. (Hebrews 1:3). We serve a God who gives life to the dead and calls into being what does not yet exist. (Hebrews 10:32). As God’s beloved children, we have divine power to demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ even as we abide in Him.
Jesus was on his way to heal the servant of a centurion when he got the above message from the centurion. As military man, the centurion knew that anyone can exercise the authority of the powers you submit to ( “For I myself am a man under authority”). Authority is the LEGAL RIGHT TO GIVE ORDERS or COMMANDS and to manage within the jurisdiction of the powers that delegated it. The entire universe falls under the jurisdiction of your heavenly Father and we can exercise His authority throughout the world. “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it…” (Psalm 24:1). Jesus declared “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. See, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will harm you. (Luke 10:18 -19). Let’s walk in our authority by saying(declaring) these words over lives.
In Jesus Name, we boldly declare, “But on my household (Mount Zion) will be deliverance; it will be holy, and I (Jacob) will possess my(his) inheritance. I (Jacob) will be a fire and my children(Joseph) a flame. The enemy (Esau) will be stubble, and there will be no survivors from the enemy(Esau). The Lord has spoken! (Obadiah 1:17 -18)
Amen and Amen.
