The right relationships

“But he rejected the advice which the elders had given him, and consulted the young men who had grown up with him, who stood before him.

Then the young men who had grown up with him spoke to him, saying, “Thus you should speak to this people who have spoken to you, saying, ‘Your father made our yoke heavy, but you make it lighter on us’—thus you shall say to them: ‘My little finger shall be thicker than my father’s waist!

Now when all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them, the people answered the king, saying: “What share have we in David? We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse. To your tents, O Israel! Now, see to your own house, O David!” So Israel departed to their tents.”
‭‭I Kings‬ ‭12:8, 10, 16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Today, we pray that the Lord will bless us with the right relationships. King Rehoboam’s friends gave him bad advice that resulted in a rebellion in his kingdom. We pray that the Lord who knows the end from the beginning, weed out every relationship that is not from God from our lives. We pray for our children, that God will protect them from negative peer pressure. Father, give our children friends who will build them up, friends who draw them closer to Christ, and friends who will edge each other towards greater academic achievements.
We pray for “Jonathan’s” to support us and our children. We pray that we ourselves will also be good friends to the people around us. In the name of Jesus.
