“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”
Galatians 5:16-23 NKJV
Today, we pray that the Spirit of righteousness will reign in our lives. We pray that the Spirit of God will quicken us to do the good works that God has predestined for us. We pray for strength to overcome every temptation and trial. We pray that each one of will stand when our faith is tested.
Father, we desire to live a righteous life; we desire your word and your will. Holy Spirit, we submit to you; consume us today.
We reject everything that belongs to the devil – jealousy, lying, gossip, hatred, bitterness, fornication, adultery and greed. We pray that we will bear the fruit of the spirit, and that our righteousness will shine for all to see. We receive strength today, to stay away from sin. We desire more of you Lord, and we want to be perfect as you our father is perfect. Reveal to us any sin we have hidden in our heart. Open our eyes to see our own faults so we can move away from sin. Holy Spirit, help us to stay true to your word. We love you Lord, we desire you, and we want more of you.
Like David, as we approach you daily, we will “wash our hands in innocence” and come to you with a pure heart. In the name of Jesus.
“I will wash my hands in innocence; So I will go about Your altar, O LORD, That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving, And tell of all Your wondrous works.”
Psalms 26:6-7 NKJV
