“The child grew and was weaned, and on the day Isaac was weaned Abraham held a great feast. But Sarah saw that the son whom Hagar the Egyptian had borne to Abraham was mocking, and she said to Abraham, “Get rid of that slave woman and her son, for that woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac.” Genesis‬ ‭21:8-10‬ ‭NIV‬‬
Today, we pray driving away every mocking spirit around our children and family. We pray that the negative words and teasing from people will not touch our children. We cover our children with the blood of Jesus. They are protected from teasing, mockery and harassment from friends and relatives, in the name of Jesus. We receive strength to sever our relationship with anyone who constantly mocks our efforts and discourages us.
Sarah, looked out for her son, and acted when Isaac was mocked. We pray that we would be able to pay attention to our children and spouses, and be able to act to help them when need arises. Lord, bring into our lives people who will build us up, and drive away from us, “mockers” and “discouragers”.
Let your grace and favor rest on every family unit, in the name of Jesus.
