A New Level

“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.” (Acts 10:38)

This was part of Peter’s response to Cornelius who was the captain of the Italian Regiment in Caesarea. The Holy Ghost is the indispensable, initiating and executing force in the universe. Nothing remains the same after the Holy Ghost moves over it. The Spirit moved over the waters before the Father called the world into existence. The Holy Spirit fell on the Son before He started His earthly ministry. They used to ask- “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” (John 1:46). But when the Father anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost and power, he went about doing good and healing all (not some) who were under the power of the devil. The same Father has anointed and empowered you with the same Holy Ghost to do good and bring deliverance to many.
Knowing the essence of the Holy Ghost, one of the first things Jesus did after his resurrection was to breathe on the disciples and declare “Receive the Holy Spirit”. Indoctrinated through tradition, the disciples limited this preaching to only the Jews. This is similar to how others have limited the grace of God because of tradition and doctrine in modern times. But a gentile’s (Cornelius) kindness had gone before God as a memorial offering which lead to an angelic visitation. At the instruction of the angel, Cornelius sent for Peter (a Jew) who still didn’t appreciate the idea of coming into a gentile’s house. “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile … (Acts 10 :28). While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Ghost fell on Cornelius’ family and friends, which broke centuries old traditions(barriers), and ushered us into a new dispensation. By faith, the same Holy Spirit has fallen on your family and friends as you read this message. Every limitation on their lives have been broken and they have been empowered to do good now; they are lifted to a new level of grace and glory.

Amen and Amen!
