Blessed and Highly Favored

But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me (Luke 1:43)

This was the response of Elizabeth when Mary entered her home and greeted her.

If Elizabeth was so favored because of Mary’s visit, then you are HIGHLY FAVORED because something greater than Mary (JESUS) is in you and this favor has no boundaries!

After Zachariah’s encounter with Angel Gabriel, his wife Elizabeth became pregnant, and for five months she secluded herself entirely, saying, “I have hid myself” ( Luke 1: 24). God sent Mary to her to prove that the favor of God will chase you down irrespective of your location as long as the Lord is with you.

The favor of God is not limited by time or your age. Elizabeth was old but the favor of God found her. “Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. For no word from God will ever fail.” (Luke 1:36 -37).

The favor of God is not limited by people’s opinion or expectations about you. Remember what they said about Nazareth?  “Can anything good come from Nazareth? (John 1:46). Yet in the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, to declare to Mary the following “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”(Luke 1: 27 -28).

The favor of God is not limited by government of the day or a dispensation. Israel was under the oppressive regime of the Romans but God’s favor found Mary and Elizabeth. The favor of God on your life does not depend on the ruling party of day!

Therefore, do not limit the Holy One of Israel with negative confessions (prophecies) because the promise is going to manifest. Like Mary, let us boldly declare “BE IT UNTO ME ACCORDING TO THY WORD”.  “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her! “(Luke 1:49)

Amen and Amen

Shalom!
