Now I have heard that you are able to give interpretations and to solve difficult problems. If you can read this writing and tell me what it means, you will be clothed in purple and have a gold chain placed around your neck, and you will be made the third highest ruler in the kingdom. (Daniel 5:16)
People who solve difficult problems are rewarded with wealth and promotion. This is a time-tested principle of life. The above statement was from King Belshazzar to Daniel who was brought back to the palace to interpret the writing on the wall of the king’s banquet hall. None of the wise men and enchanters who were in the palace were able to help the king. Daniel who occupied a high position in the kingdom during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar (the king’s father) had probably been retired or disposed because the king did not know him. However, the queen knew about Daniel’s unique ability to solve difficult problems and recommended him to the king.
Daniel went on to interpret the writing on the wall, was decorated with gold, and promoted to the third highest ruler in the land. Daniel’s ability to solve difficult problems did not only bring him back to the palace but it set him up for the presidency in the new kingdom under Darius who took over Babylon that night. It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom; And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first. (Daniel 6:1 -2)
King Solomon also had the unique ability to answer difficult questions and this caused Queen Sheba and all the earth to seek his audience. Year after year, everyone who came brought a gift—articles of silver and gold, robes, weapons and spices, and horses and mules. The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar as plentiful as sycamore-fig trees in the foothills (1 Kings 10: 1, 25, 27)
Like Daniel, you will always be relevant and prosper irrespective of the CEO, ruler or change in government. Daniel was able to solve difficult problems because he had the Holy Spirit in him. “There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods in him” (Daniel 5:11). You are also anointed to solve difficult problems because the Holy Spirit is in you. This anointing will continue to open uncommon doors of favor far beyond what you could ever ask or imagine.
Amen and Amen.
