We will take captive that which has held us.

“Then they came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gadarenes. And when He had come out of the boat, immediately there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no one could bind him, not even with chains, because he had often been bound with shackles and chains. And the chains had been pulled apart by him, and the shackles broken in pieces; neither could anyone tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and cutting himself with stones. When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and worshiped Him.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭5:1-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
On the other side, Jesus had been with the crowd, but when evening came he told the disciples “let’s go to the other side”. Jesus knew that this one man needed to be delivered, so he left the crowd and came to heal him. Today, we should all realize that God will leave the 99 and come look for us to help us and deliver us. Jesus sailed through a storm to get to the other side, because Jesus considered that the man in the tombs was also important. Our needs are important enough to God. Help is coming from some where that you do not know. A helper is riding through the storm just to deliver an answer to your problems. If a problem makes you feel as if you are living among the tombs, know that Jesus is able to deliver, even if human beings cannot do it.
The man in the tombs had a destructive tendency of cutting himself, but it was all due to the demons that where tormenting him. Nobody could help him or restrain him until the Master came. If you are at your wits end concerning a particular matter, and there does not seem to be any human solution to it, take heart, Jesus can, and will handle it. People may even blame you for “cutting yourself”, but God’s mercies can reach to you.
Today, be encouraged and strengthened, that God will deliver you from that which oppressed you, and you will take captive, that which has held you captive, in the name of Jesus.
