“A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.
Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.””

Mary, the woman in the story, poured out a very expensive perfume on Jesus that caused people to criticize her. But Jesus said that what Mary had done was a beautiful thing.
A life poured out to the Lord, given to God unreservedly, is a beautiful thing before the Lord. Today, we rededicate our life to the Lord and we fully surrender to the Holy Spirit. As we go through the fast today, let us remember that the aim of fasting is to draw closer to God so that we would be more sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
Mary anointed Jesus as her King and Lord in her life. But Simon the Leper could not even perceive who Jesus was and criticized her. Today, We submit to the Lord all aspects of our lives. Holy Spirit Help us to be fully surrounded to God and to give our best to the Lord. Lord give us the strength to carry on in the face criticism from those who are spiritually blind or insensitive. Give us the power to breakthrough every cultural and social barrier to our success. Simon’s lack of understanding caused him not to benefit from his relationship with Jesus.
Lord, Open our eyes to perceive your hand in our lives that we would fully benefit from our relationship with you. Help us to let you into every corner of our lives, we hold nothing back from you. We declare that you are our Lord and Messiah, in the name of Jesus.
