“Then, the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord. So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.””

Peace is our covenant right as children of God. The disciples had locked themselves up out of fear, but Jesus broke through and declared peace unto them. Where ever we have tried to “shut doors” out of fear for something, the Holy Spirit will break in this morning to bring us peace. We have peace from “foreign attacks” and domestic crisis. Strangers will not pick fights with us. The peace of God surrounds us and follows us everywhere we go. We have peace inwardly, and outwardly. We declare peace in our marriages, peace at work, peace in our finances, and peace in our health. Every “storm or chaos” is stilled in the name of Jesus.
Our children are children of peace. They have peace at school, there is no bad report about them, they won’t get hurt at the playground and they will not be bullied. Our children are healthy, strong and talented. Trouble is far away from our children.
“But you will have a son who will be a man of peace and rest, and I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side. His name will be Solomon, and I will grant Israel peace and quiet during his reign.” 1 Chronicles‬ ‭22:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬
This will be the story of our children. The Lord’s covenant of peace will rest on them all the days of their lives, in the name of Jesus.
