Beloved,
count yourself blessed if you had the privilege to pray today. This is because the
God of heaven and earth CHOSE you and more importantly CAUSED you to approach Him
today.“Blessed is the man You choose, and
cause to approach You, That he may dwell in Your courts …. (Psalm 65: 4).  God’s overflow
grace and desire to fellowship with you caused this blessing despite the resistance
from our flesh and the enemy. You must be joyful today if prayed because you presented
your petition to the One who answers prayer. “O You who hear prayer, To You all
flesh will come. (Psalm 65:2). Prayer is a unique, irreplaceable privilege of every
child of God. It is the CHECKBOOK of heaven which God signs daily for His children
who present it to Him. “I will give you
the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in
heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven” (Matthew 16:19).

 Knowing the indispensable role of prayer,
Jesus who is all knowing, frequently prayed especially before a major event in
His life. “Yet He frequently withdrew to the
wilderness to pray” (Luke 5:16). Looking for power to start His earthly
ministry, Jesus, filled with Holy Ghost prayed and fasted for forty days in the
wilderness (Luke 4:1) and retuned from wilderness to Galilee in POWER of the Holy
Ghost (Luke 4:14). Jesus prayed all night before He picked his disciples (Luke 6:13),
before he walked on water (Matthew 14:23) and finally before took on the greatest
test of His life when His sweat became like drops of blood falling to the
ground (Matthew 26: 36 -46)

The
disciples took note of His consistent prayer life, so one day when He had just
finished praying they made this request, “LORD, TEACH US TO PRAY….” (Luke 11:1).
Jesus went to reveal the secret of prayer. “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done
in earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 9:10). What we are and will ever be in
the future has already been settled in Heaven! “Your
eyes have seen my unformed substance; And in Your book were all written. The
days that were ordained for me, When as yet there was not one of them. (Psalm 139:16).
 Prayer is the force that PULLS what is
the heavenly realms to the earth and more importantly you! So far you are on
earth, prayer is probably the one only means to pull heaven on earth. No wonder
Jesus prayed so frequently during his earthly ministry. His example has stood the test of time – Prayer works! If Jesus prayed about relationships, power ,temptations and any major undertaking, then I must pray before I do anything.
The
disciples witnessed the unlimited attendant power of prayer in Jesus’ life and
that is why they did not ask to taught how to do
anything (perform miracles, get rich… etc.) except pray. This true worthy saying “The earnest prayer of a
righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results” Do you want great power and produces wonderful results, then let us pray. 

Lord
Jesus, teach me how to pray.
